I Can Be Bought...

As you can see, I currently have no ads here. Why should I? I’m here, blogging away for myself; enjoying the interaction and the outlet it provides. But after recent contemplation and emptying of pockets (Cha Ching!), I really think I could be persuaded if ‘said’ ads came from Home Depot. Let me be more specific, if Home Depot were a sponsor/supporter/financier of my home improvement projects.

I won’t list, wait, can’t list all of the purchases made through Home Depot in even the last year. I won’t even narrow down all of the projects on the ‘To Do List’. I will simply focus on only one room in my home, the kitchen.

We live in our kitchen; it is where we congregate. It is small, somewhat inefficient and not visually pleasing to my eye. It needs some changes and some updating, which equates to dollar signs (i.e. Depot Dollars).

Since buying this house we have added color with accessories and to the walls, but the regardless it is blah. The floor is a shade of off white. The counters are a shade of off white. The appliances are white.

We replaced the refrigerator last November with stainless, after the old one died the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Feeling pressured, we did not do our homework and now need to replace it. This past weekend My Better Half installed the remaining stainless appliances…purchased from Home Depot.

It looks quite a bit nicer without the white appliances against the off white floors and countertops.

But look at this view. We would like to move the refrigerator down to the doorway leading into the dining room in order to have one longer stretch of countertop. However if you look at the depth of the current refrigerator it won’t work.

In case you don’t see it, look at this. We clearly need to purchase a ‘counter depth’ refrigerator.

The combination of purchasing a new refrigerator and moving it to gain more counter space requires new cabinetry (Cha Ching).

Not only are the countertops not a color I would choose, they are literally coming unglued. We have had to re-glue them on numerous occasions with Gorilla Glue (purchased from Home Depot). We need new countertops (Cha Ching).

The floor also needs to be redone. Not only is “Blah’, for a better word, it is cracking.

Can we say “Cha Ching, Cha Ching” together?

Now once I purchase a new ‘counter depth’ refrigerator, cabinetry, countertops and flooring from Home Depot; I will now need coordinating blinds. Which, uh , I will no doubt purchase from Home Depot.

So, do you think if I decide to ‘sell out’ and place any ads on this blog I might have a chance with Home Depot?

Well it doesn't hurt to ask...

We just moved here a year ago and this place needs sooooo much work done on it. My husband (retired firefighter) is a carpenter by trade and built our last house of over 3,000 sq feet. And now I can not get a "fire" lit under him to just add me a room on the back or even clean out the garage. The house we moved into....1485 sq ft. Can you say....CRAMPED. We do not have enough room and I want my things back to display. I want a bigger home!!! But I do love the house payment compared to the old one! So good luck on the add, and be sure to ask for VOLUME discounts!!!! sound as if you would qualify!

Well I think you are off to a good start...maybe they'll find you soon;) And why are kitchens so darn expensive?

I love the stainless steel appliances too. Sounds like we need to get a campaign going to get you some HD sponsorship. Sounds perfect!

You'd think with all the links to their website, Home Depot would throw you a bone and give you some discounts.

Gorilla Glue is the best. I used it to fix a lot of stuff when I worked for Sears, in charge of maintaining safety in the store. It fixed a lot of loose tiles and carpet squares.

Can you really have "sponsorship" of your blog, or is that just a joking sort of idea? Excuse my ignorance, I'm new to this game.

Or, you could open the wall behind the refrigerator and build over it from the outside. New siding. And roofing stuff. From Home Depot.

Lowes is my drug of choice. It's where we do a lot of our window shopping, though we often then go pick out the same appliance and pay less for it at Sears. I do my homework online to find out whether one model is better than another, and then we drop the cash.

I have a new fridge, and now I need the range, the micro-hood, and the dishwasher to match. My floor is linoleum tiles, some of which have shifted, and needs to be replaced. My countertops, like yours, are white and are coming unglued. Cha-ching, indeed!

We're doing ours a little at a time. It'll look nice when we're finished, by which time we'll probably sell the place!!!

Peace - D

Nice appliances! *Wink* Yeah, I would also sell my soul for some Home Depot backing. I think I would even change the color of my blog to orange. *Shudder!*
