My arrival at work was greeted with an unexpected assignment that required the use of a fully functioning brain. Not only a fully functioning brain, but one that needed to be somewhat creative. Wait, it gets better. It was an assignment that required a fully functioning brain, creativity and there was a deadline. It seems that there has been some procrastination going on and now I get to shoulder the brunt of it.
Apparently the company that I work for is creating its own website; one that will be separate from the parent company. The format has been decided upon, but there is no content yet. You heard me right. Nothing. Give you one guess who needs to come up with said content in less than a week. Hmm? Can you guess? Yeah, that would be me.
So as I struggle to function in between sneezing, blowing my nose and wiping my eyes I need to
In between cups of hot tea I will attempt to describe exactly what services we provide as an electrical and communications contracting firm. This should make for some interesting reading as I am the office manager, not an electrician.
After listing our professional affiliates, explaining our safety program and attending to my normal duties I will then type up our Mission Statement…after I concoct one.
So understanding my plight and keeping in mind that I’m sick, I hope you will forgive me if I am remiss in leaving anyone comments for a short while. Oh, and if sometime down the road you come across a website for an electrical contractor in the Chicago area that says we “wire things and stuff” or “Our mission is to unload our undesirable tasks on our office manager .” I’ll give you one guess who wrote it.

Send me your draft text. I've got time on my hands, other than an app't this morning and cleaning up paperwork. I could use the break... er, the mental stimulation.
LOL. Feel better...there is nothing worse than a summer cold. And I'm sure you'll have a great site in no time! I'm just glad it's you and not me. How's that for support?
I've got a motto/slogan for you to use.
"We shock the competition!"
You like?
Ugh...sorry your sick and even sorrier that you have to work while you're sick. That stinks. Feel better soon!
Oh man, I am sorry about your cold, I think summer colds are the worse. I LOVE badass geek's motto, you should consider it!!!
I hope you are able to create something in such a short time, I feel you will be able to, and like mental p, I am soooo glad it is you and not me!!! sorry.
Not much help I know, but I do what I can. Take care and good luck.
I'll bet you do fine. Just remember to turn the computer OFF before you wipe all that sneezy crap off the keyboard. I'm just sayin'.
Feel better Cuz! Try some Cold MD - I swear that stuff really works!
aaawwww...feel better! I hate being sick. And being sick @ work is the worst of all.
Sending kleenex!
I would thoroughly enjoy reading THAT mission statement. hang in there, ok? ;-)
That sucks...what were they thinking? But knowing you, I think you'll come up with something very creative.
Feel better soon!
Hugz,
Michele
Oh, hon! I bet you caught that shit from my blog! I'm sorry! I'm under quarantine! Aaarrrgh!
OK, basically, just type out the mission statement, stop in the middle with some ellipses, and go, "... oh fuck it. Do you really care about this shit? Because it's all just a bunch of hot air!" That would be great!
Yuck! Third blogger today I've read who has a cold! I hope you are feeling much better soon and that this "minor" project is easier than you think....
Peace - D
I hate colds. I know there's worse things but I hate them just the same. I swear by Cold-eze, but you've got to take the stuff when you're first coming down with it. I could be your personal cold-eze adviser and tell you just what to do. In fact, I could be a representative for the company that makes the stuff.
I hope you feel better. And good luck getting all that work done!
get well soon! i am refraining for saying anything witty because sometimes with a head cold, laughing just makes your head explode from the additional buildup of pressure. trust me, i'm a doctor.
Oh, you poor thing. I hope you are over the worst of it by now. It's not fair of them to pile all that work on to you. I am loving badass geek's suggestion for a motto. That is brilliant. Hope it all goes well.
