An Early Christmas Gift...

My mother-in-law woke me at the plumber's crack of dawn this morning with the ole good news, bad news thing.

The bad news? She won't be coming home to Chicago for the holidays as planned.

The good news? Her husband is getting a new heart today!

So if you can, please say a prayer, send good thoughts or work your mojo that everything goes well. I believe in the power of the internet.

I do of course understand that someone just lost their life in order for this to happen; and while we are experiencing hope, his/her family, grief. My thoughts and prayers go out to this anonymous family and I am grateful that their son/daughter/brother/sister/father/mother was a donor. I am. Are you?

Yes I am. Although I don't think my heart would do anyone much good.

I am saying prayers for your FIL, even as you read this.

I am also saying a prayer for the donor.

And, lastly, "The plumber's crack of dawn"? Only you. <3

I can't find my blog said...

Great news for you and your family, prayers for the donor family. Yep. I'm a donor, too! Muah!

yes I am an organ donor. And it's a mixed blessing event, for sure. Hope it all goes well.

Well I am an organ donor, I just hope mine are usable. I don't take very good care of myself.
When my uncle died several years ago in a motorcycle accident, he donated his organs and the guy who got his heart lives around here somewhere.
I know someone who's had a pancreas transplant, and I know it's not always easy. I hope everything works out.

And of course, prayers go out to the family who just lost someone.
