It’s Starting to Sink In…

…a little bit more.

Yes, I know I’m moving to India. And yes, it is a big deal. It’s a big deal, and a little crazy, and too much to swallow all at once; and that is why I’ve been playing it down.

And that was easy to do until this week. It was easy until Paul left to go back to India. It was easy until my last day of work (which was a tad uncomfortable and without any fanfare what-so-ever). It was still easy to do these last few days while I’ve been watching my grandkids. But tomorrow they go home and I need to kick it into first gear with the packing…and giving away of some of our belongings. There it just not enough room in this house to store everything we want to keep and still leave enough space for my daughter and her family to make it their home. Sigh.

I also realize that I will not be here for Nana’s Baby Mama’s my son’s girlfriend’s baby shower; and I will probably not be able to plan a surprise 50th anniversary party for my parents next summer…or a surprise 30th birthday party for my daughter the summer after that. I know they will and do understand…but still.

(Interject change of subject)

I’ve got quite the full dance card for the next two months. In addition to all the packing that needs to be done in the next week and a half, there are two more graduation parties to attend…and seriously? When it rains, expect a monsoon because I’ve had (2) 8th grade, (5) high school and (2) college graduations this summer. Add a week or so in Florida visiting my MIL and a Girls’ Weekend into the mix and yeah, my dancing feet are already feeling sore…

…all the more reason to embrace what is to come and look forward to things like this:
