Randomness…

I keep seeing a group of birds circling in the distance.  I don’t know what species they are, but I know they’re fairly large if I can see them from so far away.  Are they falcons, hawks, eagles?  They’ve certainly piqued my curiosity.  If only one would come a bit closer.

I kept watch for over a week and finally one came all the way to my windowsill…and I missed it!  How do I know it was there?  Why he left me a big little something:

This hotel is really stingy with ice, and most of it is melted by the time I get it.
They’re stingy with toilet paper too.  This is a full roll.
I do have an option if I run out; I just don’t think I’m ready to go that route yet.
In other bathroom related news; Indian men do not need toilet paper, or even a toilet for that matter.  What you see in this picture is very common here and I’ve seen it more times than I can count.

Although living out of an hotel sucks there are some advantages.

There’s a good chance we’ll be able to move into the flat next week.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed; and my toes and eyes and legs and arms and…

That looks a lot like what the F#%&^^&*#%@G geese leave outside the office door. The curl is new, though. Novel. Cute. Arty bird, that.

that toilet paper thing would be a major issue with me. i think i use more than the average person. sorry, you didn't need to know that.

will cross my fingers that the move to the flat happens soon. hotel living leaves much to be desired.

i'm curious, will you have servants when you are in the flat? my aunt and uncle visited a friend in india two years ago. they got in trouble for tipping the servants when they left ($50 each) because all the help quit immediately afterward. guess fifty bucks is so much they felt the didn't need to work for a while.

Wait. What? said...

OK so strange the bathroom habits of india!

And was that bird poop? My goodness that is a big ass bird!

Hope all is well.

@ Blondefabulous
Thanks. We’re supposed to get the keys the beginning of next week, but…it’s India.

@ LceeL
Well, they’re not geese. I’m thinking hawk, maybe. Whatever they are, they sure have big poop!

@hello haha narf
I know I use more than the average person…and I’ve priced TP at the grocery store here and it’s like $14.00 USD for eight rolls. Not that I won’t pay that!

I’m not sure about servants yet. I think I want to see what I need before I hire any. I’m sure I can do it all, as I did before I came here. It’ll probably come down to what is expected (i.e. I can afford to give someone a job) and what I want to put up with (having someone in my home).

As far as the tip your aunt and uncle left? I understand I could have someone clean/cook for me 6 days a week for about $100 to $150 a month; so yeah, they probably figured they were set for a few weeks.

@ Wait. What?
Yes, the bathroom habits of India are still strange to me. I hope I never find myself fully acclimated to them!
