From Hell To Heaven…

By Friday night I had had enough.  After living out of, or should I say ‘in’, the same hotel for 25 days I drew the proverbial line.  I just could not take one. more. day. of. it.

Now don’t get me wrong.  I knew moving to India would be an adjustment, and a big one at that.  I also knew that I would be staying in a hotel until we found a place to live; though I didn’t realize just how long that could take.  I also didn’t realize that said hotel would be located in an area that prevented me from leaving it on my own; or would have frequent power and satellite outages; or that there’d be no water when I wanted to shower; or that the power to the gym equipment would be terminated; or that elevator music would be playing on the speakers outside my room at a volume of “11”; or that the restaurant staff would continually mess with me.  No, I didn’t expect any of that.  So this past Friday when I was literally served slop for dinner I put my foot down.

I am happy to say that we are now in a five star hotel that is in walking distance to the mall and numerous restaurants.  Some of you may wonder why we didn’t come here weeks ago.  Let me tell you why.  Paul is quite the conscientious employee and this hotel cost twice what the other one did.  I think knowing that we’d be here a week or less made it easier for him to make the move…that and the fact that I refused to speak to him.  Silence may be golden, but when it’s coming from a person about to go over the edge, you listen up.

Today I am going to walk to the mall and shop for a few things we’ll need for our new flat…which we should be in by the end of the week.  And if that’s not something to make me happy, this sure was.
Yes, that is bacon on my plate and Paul had a steak sandwich for lunch yesterday!  Neither were even close to what you get in the states, but Holy Cow and Suey! we were happy.

Namaste~

I'm sorry, but the messing with my food thing would have had me over the edge in a week! You go to jail in America for that shit, and while yes you aren't in America, you are PAYING for the services in the hotel.

Glad you guys will be moving into the flat soon!!!

There are some places that earn Each. And. Every. Star.

I am so glad you found one.

Oh. Check with the chef to see where they buy their meat. You know, for when you ARE in your own flat and you make your own meals. I'm sure the places where you can buy beef and pork and stuff like that aren't prominent in the phone book.

You were in, like, hotel boot camp. So now you graduate from basic training to good stuff. Or something!
