A few days ago Paul called and told me not to make dinner; his rickshaw driver and his wife had made us a meal. When Paul got home later that day I asked, “What’s for dinner?” to which he replied, “Mutton, honey.”
Now I’m all for trying new food and the sauce that it was in smelled really good, but I wavered and said, “You first.” Paul tried a piece and chewed for a bit, and chewed a bit more, and then spit it out. He said though it tasted good, it was mostly fat and cartilage. We’re probably going to hell since we threw it out and there are so many starving people here.
I know, right? Do not pass go, do not collect wings, go directly to hell.
This was dinner last night: Chutney Chicken, Aloo Mutter and Onion Paratha.
No, I’m not cooking Indian food yet, though I have tried two dishes from scratch. For now I’m finding these ready made mixes and sides very helpful…
…though not as good as restaurant food.
Speaking of restaurant food, only a few more days...I think I'll order a big steak. No, maybe a bacon cheeseburger. Or pizza; that sounds good. Perhaps roast pork with dumplings and gravy. Turkey and stuffing. Glazed ham....
Namaste~

Oh man! I'd go directly to the nearest Wendy's drive thru and get the triple Baconator!!!
You know .. if you're going to be home for over a month ... I get the feeling you're going to need a bigger plane going back.
Aloo mutter? Aloo father? While these things look tasty enough, just WAIT till you get back and can have real American food - beef and everything! Enjoy!
well, at least you tried the mutton.
