Amazon…

…I miss you.

I realized about two weeks ago that I forgot the battery charger for my camera back in the states.  One would think I could just run out and purchase a replacement, but one would be mistaken.  I could buy a brand new camera that comes with a battery charger, but we’ve found that a charger alone is not to be had.  Of course I could ask Fraughter to ship the one I forgot; but let’s be realistic.  It will either (A) never get here, or (B) arrive around the time I’m going back for a visit.

Now I’m sure some of you are thinking, “Well, damn woman; just order one on Amazon!” and I would have to reply, “Been there, tried that, no can do.”  Amazon will not ship certain items to certain places; meaning a battery charger is a certain item and India is certainly one of those places.

Out of curiosity, I went through the motions to see what information Amazon yielded if I were to order a book.  Take a look at this:
At least a month for delivery, I’ll be home March 11th and the shipping cost almost equals that of the book itself.  Don’t forget to read the fine print, an import tax will be added as well.

So unless I use Paul’s camera, which will not fit in my purse (Nikon D300), the only pictures I’ll be posting here will most likely be ones I’ve already taken.

Namaste~

Lame. Can you point your laptop's webcam out your window and do a screen capture? (Sorry that's the best I can come up with.)

How frustrating. Could someone else here (me) order a battery for you and send it? I'd be glad to help. You don't have your cell phone there with a camera?
