Spit and Polish

Saturday morning, 8:25 a.m. our weekend activities began…

We did not tag along with my daughter and the grandkids to visit The Museum of Science and Industry. We did not try a new drink recipe, photograph it and then consume it. We did not go to the local sports bar to watch the Bears get spanked by the Packers (though this wouldn’t be my choice anyway). We did not watch a marathon of anything on TV.

We cleaned.

We swept and swiffered; vacuumed and mopped. Dusted, polished, wiped and waxed. We scoured and scrubbed. We washed and dried. We used elbow grease…on our hands and knees.

We straightened up, organized and put away. We beat rugs and fluffed pillows. Windows were washed and carpets cleaned…

…until almost five o’clock on Sunday.

Not very exciting, I know, but the house is ready for my MIL’s visit. And look what we found in the couch!

Sixty-four cents in change and the missing “I” from the Scrabble game. And…please, can someone explain how a fork ends up under the cushions.

Your fork beats anything I have found under my couch cushions. Hilarious!

You should put the fork back.. you can use it next time you sit down with some food and forgot to get a fork! :0) I received the GC and the sweet note! :) Half of it is already gone! (I am very surprised I didn't use that and all my money..I was a very good girl!)

Well at least you took the time to document it for us! First, I LOVE the clock...it's great. Second, well, let's just say it's best you found the fork in that way as opposed to attached to some part of your butt.
If only couches could tell their stories!

LMAO...I found weird things in my couch too...like a knife, hair ties, and lots of pens and pencils. I just wanna smack my kids sometimes...I wish they would pick up after themselves!

Hugz,
Michele

I love that you found an "i" scrabble piece! It's amazing what falls into the cracks of seat cushions :)

Could you check your couch one more time? I'm missing three (count 'em) forks. Could they be there? You think?

Hey, I haven't seen you for a while! I am always glad to find you again : ). I always find utensils in my couch too. I have NO idea how they get there since no one is supposed to eat in the living room. How does that happen?

All that cleaning made me thirsty. And hell if I know how that fork got there....

I can state unequivocally - It wasn't me.

Man, I'm tired just reading about your weekend. No idea about the fork though. Just blame past houseguests. :)
