One Car, Two Car, Three Car...STOP Car!

One week ago today I expressed my frustration with drivers who don’t pay attention and exercised my freedom of speech with some colorful vernacular. Today, on the way to work, I had cause to exercise the first amendment again.

“What the fuck…Fuck…FUCK!?!” came tumbling from my mouth as I heard the first crash; then felt the second two. Yeah, I was involved in a four car accident because some bitch was on her cell phone and not paying attention. I and the other two drivers were waiting at a stop light; at a complete stop; for about a minute when the fourth driver hit the car behind me pushing that car into mine; and mine into the car in front of me.

When the police arrived we all pulled into a nearby parking lot. Of course that was after I had to slowly pull up to release the bumper wedged under mine. While waiting and still not feeling the full impact of my head being whipped forward and then slammed back against the headrest I decide to pull out my new Nikon Coolpix camera.

Not one, but two squad cars showed up.

Here’s the bumper that ended up under mine.

Oh look, here’s the ‘let’s talk on my cell phone and not pay attention to the fact that there are three stopped cars in front of me bitch’ that hardly has any damage to her Honda Accord.

After about forty five minutes of waiting we’re notified that because the reports don’t have enough pages we have to all head to the police station. What the…?

Almost two hours later I’m back on the road. I last at work for about four hours before my headache renders me useless. All I want to do is go home and take a steamy hot shower, but first I have to stop at the car wash to get the winter grime off my car so I can access the damage. My front and back bumpers don’t look too bad, but I can’t tell if anything is out of whack.

After downing more Motrin and taking a shower my head feels a little better but the muscles in my lower back are killing me. I hope I won’t have to exercise my rights under the seventh amendment…the right to sue her dumb ass.

Dude. You want me to kick her ass? And then run over her phone? And then sledgehammer her bumpers? 'Cause you know I'll do it. :)

Hope you feel better.

That's terrible. She really should be charged. I hope you haven't sustained an injury to your back or neck. Take care of yourself.

That. Sucks.

Although I've been the rear-ender twice now. So I have a little sympathy for her. Believe me, it sucks more when you can't displace your anger onto someone else.

Hi L,

I just hate it when this kind of thing happens. No fault states like this put the problems of traffic accidents on the people and the insurance companies instead of the police. After it drops ice and snow here and everyone is finished playing bumper cars, the rates for safe drivers like me are bound to increase too.

Best wishes,

Skeeter

I hope you're ok! Sounds like you got a nasty whiplash (not unlike Snidely Whiplash).

Cell phones in cars should only be used by passengers. Period.

Peace - D

That sucks! I got rearended (sounds kinda kinky) once, and I had a SERIOUS headache, neckache and backache for a couple weeks. I got slammed, though, totalling my car.

I hope you don't end up in as much pain as me. Go get some of those really strong muscle relaxers from your primary before it gets any worse.

Ugh i know how you feel. For some reason people always seem to want to hit me when I'm driving...make sure you go to the docs and get a full assessment just incase you do need to sue

Hope you're feeling better!

They have a new law here in Nova Scotia now. Can't cell and drive.

Well, you can, but not with handheld, you HAVE to use an earpiece.

Just ask me how many people I still see cruising and talking on handhelds though! UGH!

I was going to say that sucks but I see that Miss Grace beat me to the punch. Only she said "That. Sucks.", so maybe mine is a little different.

There's nothing good about car accidents.

I'm glad you're all in one piece! I live in a state where the at fault driver has to pay, but often the same assholes who drive while talking on their phone are the same assholes who neglect to carry insurance.

That sucks! But if that accident is the one I'm thinking of, that bitch made my little brother late for school too. LOL
