Things I Am Thankful For Today…

The fact that I am in the states and will be having turkey, as opposed to being in India and eating chicken…again.

Having an oven big enough to cook said turkey in, as opposed to cooking in a toaster oven.

Drinking real coffee with granulated sugar and half-n-half, as opposed to instant with sugar crystals and non dairy creamer.

Getting ice from an automatic ice maker, as opposed to boiling water and then pouring it into trays.

Washing a week’s worth of laundry in one load, as opposed to five.

Doing the dishes by way of dishwasher, as opposed to washing them in the sink with no hot running water.

Being able to jump in the car and go where I want, as opposed to finding a rickshaw driver that understands enough English to get me where I want.

Talking to people in the same time zone, as opposed to calculating the time difference before enabling Magic Jack or stalking people through Chat on FaceBook.

Hearing Christmas music, as opposed to Bollywood music.

Watching new episodes of TV shows, as opposed to watching Season 1 of a show that’s been out for five years.

Seeing my grandchildren with a full plate of food, as opposed to seeing children begging on the street.

Getting hugs and kisses in person, as opposed to getting them sent through the internet.

Happy Thanksgiving.
