I almost...

…went to the grocery store this morning in my pajamas; the only thing that stopped me was the fact that I wasn’t wearing any.  You see I still had my sweatpants and t-shirt on from the day before.  No bra, no make-up, no brushing of the teeth.  Just a quick comb of fingers through my hair and I was out the door for our New Year’s Eve provisions.

I walked up and down the aisles, ticking each item off my list as I threw it into the cart.  I was on a mission to get out of there as quickly as possible.  When I approached the cashier she looked at me like I had cooties and was reluctant to take my store card.  Was it my lack of hygiene?  That might have had something to do with it, but more than likely it was the arsenal laid out on the conveyor belt:  Kleenex, tea, honey, cough drops, Airborne (3 flavors), soup, Advil, Chloraseptic, Robitussin, Lysol wipes, orange juice and 7-Up.

Yes, we are suffering with the flu here.  All of us, except the grandkids; they came down with it Christmas night and have since recovered.  I’m glad they’re good kids and understand the concept of sharing, but this is one thing I wish they would have kept to themselves.

Today will be spent vying for the remote and attempting baskets with wadded up tissues.  Naps will be taken, as will temperatures; and the only alcohol consumed will be from doses of cough syrup.

Happy Flu Year!

Don’t forget to leave a comment for the Give-Away if you haven’t already done so.  A winner will be picked tomorrow.

AND, have a safe, happy…and healthy New Year.

I feel ya. I spent all day Thursday taking care of my husband and his head cold, and now I have it today, just in time for New Years Eve! I should kick his ass.

Enjoying this so much! Hope you get well soon. Don't be shy to try a hot toddy, they've been known to help! Having Jack home on Christmas break, we've had the chance to watch lots of movies. One that I've reall enjoyed, over and over .... Is the original Shrek! What a fun movie! Safe travels to you both; and a blessed happy healthy new year to you. Namaste!

Yikes! HOpe everyone feels better soon. It can be amusing when you look down at what you are buying sometimes.
